New Hobby

As some of you may know, I suffer from (hopefully) minor anxiety. I have decided to do some research instead of seeking help-I know sounds crazy. I found this amazing website that gives you the dos and don'ts about coping with anxiety. Of course, there's the healthy diets, exercises, yoga's, and teas that help control the anxious feeling. There is one thing I have decided to do that may help with the coping.

A few weeks ago my manager saw this knitting add on Groupon. It was something I had always wanted to try since high school and the opportunity came knocking. I decided to join. I thought it may be the first step to controlling some-what of the anxiety I currently have. The knitting place is called "Patricia's Yarns" and it was the most cutest shop I've been to. The first class began yesterday in Hoboken, New Jersey-where "Patricia's Yarn" is located. I have never been to Hoboken nor ever taken the path before. The whole experience was very new to me. I feel thrilled to try something knew and out of environment. I am hopping to become a pretty good knitter and hope that it releases some of the anxiousness. Maybe, instead of drinking chamomile tea at night before bed, I can do some knitting? We shall see if this helps. ~Stay tuned for my progress.

Accessory Board.

The "Accessories Board" is a section in my blog where I can write and show off photos of recently purchased, gifted, and likings of any accessory. Please stay tuned for more in the last weeks.

In the past few weeks I've been making some changes as far as choosing the appropriate accessories that would best fit the style and look in which I am going for. Here are a few photos of what I have recently purchased and what had been given to me-as a birthday present.
All jewelry were inexpensive. Mostly purchased at Forever 21. Of course, the one piece that was gifted to me, I have absolutely no clue where it was might of came from. What I do know is, it was very much appreciated because it came from the heart of my best friend. Hope you guys enjoy the photos.

Shop. New Shoes

Today was lay day for me and and of course I just had to get some shopping therapy done. With my birthday just a few days away these shoes were the icing to my outfits.

Both shoes were bought at TJ-Max. The first pair are Steve Madden for the price of $50. The second, black and white BCBGeneration were $40. I was so lucky because these were the only pair of shoes in my size! When the odds are less great , take advantage and buy! It was so meant to be! Stay tuned for the outfits!

London Fashion Week-Tom Ford Fall 2013

                    Tom Ford Fall 2013 Collection

Black and white and structure with mixed fabric and prints were everything in this collection.

I am head over heals in love! This jacket sets a statement. The bomber abstract print jacket would spice up a simple plain outfit for sure!

This is definitely my favorite out fit in this collection. Each piece is a statement piece by itself. Lets start with the shoes! I am in love. The tall boot look, print pee-toed shoes were super sexy. This is a good way to go about your winter dressing-when you do not want to show much skin yet the pedicure that you either did yourself or took the time and money to get done professionally, just had to be shown off.
The skirt, itself is yet another statement piece. With a simple plain colored blouse (possibly with a feminine collar) and pumps-your new outfit is set.
The top almost wrap around sweater blouse is fabulous one. With light ripped up jeans and booties-the outfit is again complete.

More of the black and white love. How can you pass this one up? I call it the lazy and the chic. ~ My favorite combination.

London Fashion Week-Gary Graham Fall 2013

                       Gary Graham Fall 2013 Collection

I absolutely love how comfort and edge was combined here. Much of a chic bohemian look. Take a look. How would you re-create this!?

London Fashion Week- Mary Katrantzou Fall 2013 RTW Collection

                 Mary Katrantzou Fall 2013 Collection

As New York Fashion week ends London Fashion week begins. Here is a very interesting collection that combines nature, art and Japanese culture in the mix. These pieces are somewhat soothing with a bit of edge.

NYFW- Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 Collection

Reading certain blogs like Fashionista.com and CFDA - all were blown away by Marc Jacob's show. After seeing the collection myself, I must say I'm not that blown away. I did though, find a few pieces that really stuck out to me. I am a huge fan of the furs, the comfort and warmth for this fall/winter. These pieces combines style with comfort and furs. Get excited!
Of course, each piece can be worn differently in real life. Depending on the occasion and weather, I would mix the furs with velvet tights or leather pants. How would you style up the look?

NYFW-Bibhu Mohapatra Fall 2013 Collection

           Bibhu Mohapatra Fall 2013 Collection

I must say, Bibhu Mohapatra has put together an amazing collection this season. I am completely in love with the structures and chick styles in color, fabric textures and patterns.

Lets start with the the awesome furs. I am intrigued by this particular jacket by the way it makes the waste look smaller up on top yet it remains it's integrity with it's long panels of fur-on both left and right side of the jacket. The long-ness, the fur side panels, and black textured sleeves, leaves an outstanding impression on the body-making it look long, lean and slim. This style of jacket works for all body types. I cannot wait to see this style in the streets of NYC!

This next piece, is my next favorite jacket because of it's leather and fur combination. It is a rich and chick look which can be worn on a regular day to day basis to spice up a simple outfit.

Of course, I had to choose this next awesome fur as my final fur piece. It is a very cozy, warm, rich look that can also spice up a simple outfit-for sure

This final jacket is an interesting piece. It manages to wrap around while keeping it's structure. This style of jacket has spotted on the runways many times this season. Oscar de La Renta actually created a longer version of a wrap around structured jacket as well.

I am hoping to put together more affordable look-alike styles, for those of us who are out there working hard and/or in school, paying bills and maintaining somewhat of a decent home. Stay tuned people!

NYFW-Kate Spade New York

Kate Spade New York Fall 2013 Collection

Kate Spade is known to add color blocks, pop of colors, studs, and edge to her designs. This collection differs from others in a way that textures and patterns are combined together in an oddly manner-yet it works! How would you make each piece into your own look?

NYFW-Rachel Zoe

                            Rachel Zoe Fall 2013 Collection

One of my ultimate piece from Rachel Zoe's collection Sounds simple enough but first thing, check out the cut off fingered long leather gloves! Gloves seem to be hitting the runaways this season. These gloves would look perfect with a pancho like coat-where sleeves are not an option.
The turtle-neck casual dress-I can totally see wearing this to work or even a lunch date with friends. Adding a long fitted blazer with stocking and a colored pump would do the trick-in a work environment. A white long sleeve blouse underneath this dress with pumps and accessories, such as a gold cuff, and a clutch, would look awesome for a lunch outing with friends. How would you make this look your own?

More furs on the runway! Rachel Roy is even wearing one of her very own fur coat. Did you think this was tacky or cool of her? Stay tuned for postings of all designers who presented fur looks into their very own collections with unique accessories.

NYFW - Oscar De La Renta

Oscar De la Renta Fall 2013 collection

Furs are still hitting the runways. I love the way the color of each of these outfits are coordinated together. As the average person, one wouldn't think of putting any of these colors together. This goes to show you, that it can really work!
The style can be created into a more casual look by adding a pair of jeans and red pumps. The gloves are an accessory which makes the overall look come together. How would you make each piece into your own look?

Capes are also hitting the runways! Love this "little red ridding hood" look. The black sheer capes are very much presented on the casual side. Jeans, pumps, and those featured gloves would be pulled off very well in the streets of NYC. Who is going to show me the their own look?

Grammy Awards-Best Looks

Besides the fact that I am currently laying in bed sick-after working my butt off all week, I have the energy and ambition to sit up and blog about my favorite Grammy Awards look. I look forward to hearing from you guys. Opinions are meant to be all set on the table. For those who are catholic-Happy Ash Wednesday. Enjoy!

Beyonce in Osman. It was a very simple yet HOT look. From the hair style, to choosing the appropriate shoes-she killed it all!

Rihanna is Alaia couture. This red a-line dress was a sexy yet elegant look for Rihanna. We all know Ri is a risk taker but calming things down once in a while, makes her style seem humble and natural.

Katy Perry in Gucci. Not many were very fond of this "Priscilla Presley" inspired look, but I must say, I actually liked it. The dress was very appealing to her form. The color, on they other hand, is something I would have to disagree with. This is not the season for mint green - a darker tone color would of been much more ideal for the occasion.

Taylor Swift in J. Mendel. This almost, godesse looked worked very well on Taylor. The color and hairstyle makes her look a bit more whimsical. It was a safe look and she rocked it!
